Cost
Effective Guided Wave Radar Series
The
important benefits of guided wave radar level transmitter technology
have now been extended with the introduction of Horizon® from level
specialists Magnetrol.
The
Horizon series is designed to service uncomplicated level applications
in the most cost-effective way that TDR technology based transmitters
can offer. The Horizon transmitters are loop powered, with intrinsically
safe electronics housed in a compact aluminium or Valox housing. The
amplifiers can be removed under process conditions and are compatible
with coaxial, twin rod or single rod GWR probes.
The
horizon series comes with the choice of two electronics - 703 and 704.
The 703 amplifier is a blind transmitter that offers an analog output
of 4-20 mA (308 to 20.5 useable) whilst 704 offers both an analog and
a digital Hart output. Both transmitters are pre-calibrated from the
factory and ready for use straight out of the box. The 703 uses a 3
push-button /LED user interface to adjust set points whilst the 704
is completely menu driven and does not even require connection to the
probe to make operational adjustments.
The
Horizon series utilises the technology for TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry),
sending high frequency pulses down a wave guide (GWR probe), when the
pulse reaches a liquid surface, part of the signal is reflected and
level is accurately determined by means of a high speed timing circuit.
By
utilising GWR technology, accurate level measurement is assured regardless
of process variables, which limit the effectiveness of other technologies.

Vent
Recovery System
Vent
recovery system provides turnkey solution for connecting process analyzer
vent to flare headers.
Parker
Instrumentation has launched an innovative turnkey solution for connecting
continuous process analysers into flare disposal systems. Designated
the Vent Recovery Panel, the system dynamically protects petrochemical
and chemical analysers against the pressure fluctuations encountered
in flare headers providing
a constant pressure test environment that eliminates any need to vent
to atmosphere.
Continuous
process analysers require very stable flow and pressure to produce accurate
results. Analyser performance is critical to plant efficiency, and commonly,
such process sampling systems are vented to atmosphere
because
it is a highly stable reference, but with increasing clean air legislation,
companies are being forced to reduce or eliminate emissions. In order
to comply, the most straightforward solution is usually to vent analyzer
samples into a plant’s flare path. Unfortunately, the pressure in flare
headers can be very variable adversely
impacting measurement accuracy.
Parker’s
Vent Recovery Panel automatically adjusts for pressure variations using
a novel, patent-pending method. The system incorporates two major elements,
a fast-loop flow controller, and a modular switching system to allow
analyzers to be connected easily to multiple input sampling streams.
The
flow control system uses a proprietary configuration of flow and pressure
regulation elements to maintain constant pressure at both the inlet
and outlet of the analyzer. In tests using widely varying levels of
inlet and outlet pressure, the system has been proven to maintain constant
pressure to within in
the worst case 0.25%.
System
versatility is provided by the use of Parker’s modular stream-switch,
R max. Purpose-designed for automated applications, the pneumatically-operated
R-max brings new integrity to stream-switching application through the
use of true three-way double-block-and-bleed value modules that eliminates
any possibility of cross contamination of fluid streams, combined with
needle valves offering operating lifetimes in excess of one million
cycles. This value system is surface mounting, allowing stream switching
to be implemented in a very compact area. A complete three-stream for
example, requires just 7 x 7 x 20 cm.

MIROCAL:
Portable Universal Calibrator
MICROCAL
is used to calibrate all types of temperature instruments. It also functions
as a measuring instrument or thermometer for 10 types of thermocouples,
RTD’s current and voltage inputs. Typical accuracy for all ranges is
0.02% of full scale. This microprocessor-based instrument simulates
B, E, J, K, R, S, T, W1, W3 and W5 thermocouples by reference to internal
tables. Temperature is entered in °C or °F from the membrane keypad
and the corresponding millivolt output is automatically generated. Cold
junction compensation is automatic or manual. MICROCAL also generates
or measures a current signal of 0 to 20000 microamps, and ohms signal
up to 500 ohms. Pt100 RTD measurement or simulation can be done in °C
of °F. MICROCAL operates on internal Ni-cad rechargeable batteries for
4 to 8 hours per charge. A battery charger is included. This compact,
lightweight unit is supplied with a calibration certificate with traceability
to National / US standards

Hydraulic
Vane Pumps
S.M.Shah
and Company offers imported Vickers equivalent Fixed Displacement Hydraulic
Vane pumps and cartridge kits for mobile and industrial applications.
These pumps contain a rear cover, front body shaft and cartridge kit.
The tandem balanced type vane pumps share one inlet thereby reducing
space requirements and installation costs. The vane design with self-compensation
for wear and clearances make volumetric efficiency of pumps nearly constant
over the service life. The intravane design of the vane pump keeps the
vanes in constant contact with the cam ring. Even at higher speeds and
pressures, this self-compensating vane tip wear feature provides high
performance over life of the pump. Cartridge kits are the primary way
to service the pumps to restore the pump performance, lower the replacement
cost and reduce downtime. Cartridge Kits of Vickers 20V/VQ (5,8,11,12,14
GPM), 25V/VQ (12,14,17,21 GPM), 35V/VQ (25,30,35,38 GPM) and 45V/VQ
(42,50,60 GPM) series are used to service single and double Vickers
vane pumps of series 2520V, 3525V, 4525V, 3520V, 4520V etc. The cartridge
kit is independent of the shaft allowing for easy change of flow capacity
and field servicing without removing the pumps from its mounting.

Data
Communication Cables RS232 / 422 / 423 / 485,
Data
Bus Cable
Improved
sensors, instruments, sophisticated control and automation systems are
being relied upon to achieve the optimum levels of plant efficiency.
Critical to the performance of these new tools of productivity are wires
and cables, which reliably transmit signals and data under harsh environmental
conditions. The cables are manufactured in a wide range of sizes, insulation
materials, shield configurations, jacket materials, armoured/unarmoured
to meet the specific applications.
All
data communication cables are normally shielded cables in multicore
or multipair configuration. The cables are normally provided with an
overall shielding by aluminium-polyester tape or a tinned copper braid
shield. In applications where the protection of signal integrity is
critical, a combination of foil and braid shield is provided for maximum
shield effectiveness. Moreover, cables can also be provided with individual
core or pair screening where necessary.
The
cables are available in various conductor sizes ranging from 26 AWG
to 22 AWG i.e. 0.14sqmm to 0.34 sqmm. The cables are specially designed
for low capacitance and specific impedances. Twisted pair cables offer
reduced noise interference and hence data speeds are usually higher
than those of multicore cables. The cores are normally colour coded
for easy identification. Custom designed, import substitute cables are
available.
